My kids have already done several hundred reps on the zipline and it’s their current favorite thing I’ve ever built. That just means I have to build something cooler soon! About a month ago a lady stopped me in the grocery store and mentioned how she loved what I do for the school in our local community. Then she mentioned that her kiddo goes to a school that could use some help with their basketball court. I connected with the principal and figured out how I could help. There are a ton of things I’m thankful for, but having the ability and opportunity to help these schools where I can is definitely near the top of my list. I decided a while ago that I wanted to try to host a free local class to teach parents and kids tool safety, and at the same time build something that they would be proud of at the end. So I thought no better time than Mother’s Day. I’m humbled by the turn out. We hosted 50 people and built each person a hanging plant holder that they could take home to their mom or grandma. On top of learning the skills, @RYOBI Tools USA also donated a tool set to every single person who came. How cool is that? So not only did they get to learn, they can now go home and confidently use the tools they learned on. We had a blast, shared some laughs, made a few mistakes, and a whole bunch more memories. Huge shoutout to Growler Guys for hosting this event with me and thank you to everyone who showed up, it means more than you’ll ever know! With borrowed leaf blowers, and lent motors, we figured out the best options for the tug boat. I actually built a zip line a few years ago that was only 50 ft long and when I saw how much fun my kids had on it, I knew I eventually wanted to build a more permanent longer version, so today was the day! Tomorrow I will finish the platform and set up the zip line, so be sure to check back in! So you think I should make a slide off the side, or just stick to a ladder? #DIY #zipline #treefort
