Going through the full milling process to get a board square on four sides, S4S, using the jointer, table saw and planer on the wood for the next project! I rough cut the board at the miter saw and roughly ripped it to width with a 20T ripping blade to quickly get through the material. One face and one edge were squared at the jointer, while the opposite face was planed parallel to the jointed face. Finally, I switched out to a 40T blade, for a finer cut quality, to rip the last edge perfectly square. Routing out the slots for the C-Channel on this table to get it mounted as flush as possible with the table base! I have never wanted to touch wood while it's cutting so bad in my life! I did manage to refrain from doing it until after the carving was done, but I just couldn't believe how smoothly the wood carved. The surface finish left by the tapered ballnose bit is dang near perfection! Now we just need to get the spoon flipped over and carve the other side. Tight fitting mortise and tenon joints are easy to cut for the perfect fit using the Shaper Origin handheld CNC machine and Workstation! Adjusting the size of the mortise is easy, it was too tight at first and I widened it by 2 thousandths of an inch to give that perfect fit with the "Shaper Pop" as I pulled the joint out. The shelves fit perfectly on the dry fit and everything turned out great! Double sided machining is not as difficult to set up as you might think. Many people are intimidated by it, but in reality, you just need to create location holes in the top side of your work piece and mirrored holes in the wasteboard using some dowels as location pins. Once your piece is secured back down using new screw hole locations, your x and y zero locations stay the same and you're ready to start cutting on the opposite side. It's a pretty easy process!
