#women & #britishasian wait longer on the #nhs. The inequalities are there and now we have an opportunity to do something about it. The longer someone waits for care the worse the prognosis @Wellbeing of Women The Health Collective

Replying to @Alexandrea💋 yes the #weightlossinjection #glp1agonist Tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) delays gastric emptying and therefore has the potential to affect the rate of absorption of oral medicines such as oral HRT, progesterone/ progestogen which is so important for #endometrial protection alongside systemic oestrogen in those with a womb.

Duet 🎥 @PCOS Weight Loss Polycystic ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is sometimes referred to as the "diabetes of the ovaries" because women with PCOS often experience insulin resistance and are at a higher risk of developing type 2 diabetes according to the RCOG. This association arises from the common link between PCOS and insulin resistance, where the body doesn't use insulin effectively, leading to increased insulin production and potentially causing or worsening type 2 diabetes Ref: https://www.rcog.org.uk/for-the-public/browse-our-patient-information/polycystic-ovary-syndrome-pcos-what-it-means-for-your-long-term-health/#:~:text=Key%20Points,other%20conditions%20later%20in%20life.
Education, at its core, is intrinsically linked to humanity. May we never underestimate its power, its ability to harness tolerance, it’s contribution to a peaceful and sustainable society
We need to have honest & difficult conversations about institutional #racism issues in the #NHS #healthcare system. I work in the NHS & care deeply about the health of my patients. However I value the lived experiences of Black women ‘denied pain relief’ on NHS maternity wards.
Pain relief is available for gynaecological procedures. Women wait months to see gynaecologists then are given no pain relief for painful procedures. They put up with this as they don’t want to be put back in a queue. There is access to topical lidocaine spray and entonox, and it should be routine. Never agree to put your hands underneath you to help the practitioner. This is a red flag for a wrong-sized speculum, especially if the woman has a retroverted uterus. You don’t have a problem, the practitioner does.
In essence, while hugs may not literally save a life in a crisis, they offer a wide range of benefits that can contribute to a healthier and happier life, ultimately promoting well-being and potentially increasing life expectancy #hugs #drnighat
