Pay attention to your surroundings and you'll find a world of wonder and surprise! A few months ago I went for a walk in the Commercial Drive neighborhood of Vancouver when I heard a strange noise coming from the side of a building. looking over I saw some sort of art installation so took a closer look. It was the facade of a miniature cinema with a button. Press it, and a movie played, because inside was a full scale-model of the cinema, complete with stadium seating, curtains, and an audience. went to have dinner in the area with #TEDXSurrey alumni Vaclav Vincalek and Rhona Segarra and decided to swing by the East Van Vodville Cinema at the #VancouverHackSpace to share it with you all. #eastvanvodvillecinema #vancouver #britishcolumbia #canada
MCP support in @vscode with @github Copilot Agent mode is a Very Big Deal. Here's how you get started (and all the links)! The Model Context Protocol created by Anthropic provides a universal interface layer giving LLMs the capability of accessing custom tools, resources, prompt templates and more. This means online services like GitHub can provide an MCP Server developers can plug into VS Code, Cursor, and other IDEs that allow AI agents to interface directly with the service. To prove this point, GitHub has published their own MCP Server that gives LLMs fine-grained access to all the API endpoints the service offers, meaning as you work in your project, AI Agents like GitHub Copilot or Cursor can manage your GitHub repos for you and even act proactively based on your instructions! Right now, the ecosystem of MCP servers is a bit of a wild west with people "Vibe Coding" and publishing servers of varying quality and with varying degrees or even awareness of safety. But looking beyond the immediate chaos, I believe MCP may be the connective tissue that brings true utility to AI agents, at least where developers are concerned. Now that I got your attention, learn how to build your own MCP servers in my new LinkedIn for Learning course "Model Context Protocol (MCP): Hands-On with Agentic AI" #mcp #modelcontextprotocol #anthropic #openai #microsoft #vscode #aiagents #cursor #github #githubcopilot #vibe #vibecoding #linkedinlearning #linkedin
