My running has finally come to an end. We made it to almost 34 weeks of running and my pelvis just cannot take anymore. I looked back at my pre pregnancy running videos and was a bit discouraged because of how much I was able to accomplish last year. So many 5ks. My first 10k. My first half marathon. But I had to reframe and I am so thankful for what my body has been able to do. I’ve been able to grow my fourth baby while continuing to workout at 39 years old. To watch the seasons change from Fall to Winter and now to Spring in these clips and then to watch my body change is incredible. Women are simply incredible. I said I would run until my body told me to stop and it is indeed telling me stop. 😭😭 I am going to focus on more low impact exercises until baby girl gets here and remain thankful for this journey. We are 8 months pregnant! This pregnancy is going by fast and slow at the same time lol. Come with me for another 24 hour shift. Thankful that I can still work but also looking forward to maternity leave snuggles. I know the shifts may seem crazy but I only do a few a month and I’m home with my family the rest of the time. It gives me great flexibility. I have worked up until delivery with every baby so we will hopefully do the same this time too. My pelvic pain is disrespectful but other than that baby girl has been good to me! May can’t come soon enough.
Fibroid journey part 2. Many of you asked why I have to have another Cesarean delivery and this is why. Although harder to recover from, I am thankful for however my babies get here safely. If you have suffered from fibroids too, let me know in the comments.
Come with me to do my glucose test! I will admit I did my test late because I have been dreading it and nervous because I def failed my one hour with my first two pregnancies. I passed with Grayson so let’s hope I pass this time. Gestational diabetes does increase your risk for preeclampsia and there is an increased risk of diabetes later in life. Fasting is not required for the test and I had a small breakfast just so I wouldn’t pass out during my step class lol. Now we wait and I’ll keep you guys updated on my results. If I don’t pass I will have to come back and do the 3 hour test 😭. #obgyn #doctormom #glucosetest
Third trimester and we are still going strong! I know that when my children see mommy working out throughout pregnancy that it encourages them to do the same. #fitandpregnant #obgyn #doctormom
Spend 24 hours with me at 7.5 months pregnant. For those of you who don’t know, I am an OB Hospitalist. I don’t see patients in the office anymore and just work in the hospital. I do 6-7 shifts a month which gives tons of flexibility for being home with the kids and travel of course. I will admit it’s getting harder and harder to do these shifts but we are on the home stretch! It’s too hard to capture what we actually do in 24 hours but hopefully this gives you a glimpse into the crazy world of OB. I will admit, even though I don’t love being pregnant, the patients I see love when they see that I am pregnant too. They are always so kind and tell me to make sure I drink my water and take my naps lol.
